smart girl!

Kalista did something cool last night and I have to brag a bit.

One of the things that Kalista got for Christmas this year is a new CD player because she loves music and she is really hard on her players.  She opened it but didn't really seem to interested in it.  I didn't think she knew what was in the box.  I put it in the storage room the other day when I cleaned up the Christmas stuff.

She hasn't been sleeping at all lately and  that means no one is sleeping.  Last night Jim had had enough of it so he stole the power cord off of her old CD player.  He figured that if she wasn't listening to music all night that she would sleep.

uuummmm.......    no.

I got up and saw that she had found the new CD player, opened it up (ripped the box apart),  figured out how the power cord goes in and what all the different buttons do.  She was dancing to her Glee CD and was as proud as can be.

I am just amazed by her.  I love when I can see the intelligence behind the autism.  I love that she did understand what was in the box even if she didn't show me.  I love that she didn't have a meltdown she just took it into her own hands and figured it out!
