K doesn't speak that much. We taught her American Sign Language when she was tiny. We started with the signing time videos. (they are Amazing by the way!) http://www.signingtime.com/ It was the biggest gift when her autism really took hold and she lost her speech. I believe it made all the difference in her frustration level. I am told that it is normal for people who use sign as their fist language to abbreviate and change signs a bit. K defiantly has her own way....fast! She has made it her own "Angel Sign Language". Some times it is hard to keep up with it. Every movement of her hands mean something.... a raise of the eyebrow means she is asking a question. Big signs usually mean she is getting mad at me.
We were driving to grandma's house yesterday. It is about a 30 min from here to there. As we were passing a semi-truck she puts her thumb on her nose and makes that "farty" raspberry noise and laughs so hard. every car we passed she did it. It was like she was saying "Ha ha! My mom has a Led foot and yours doesn't!". It was way cute and I was way grateful that we live way out in the country where no one has road rage.
I am just amazed by age appropriate behavior when it comes out. I'll work on manners tomorrow....
