We just ran away! and it was wonderful.
Jim usually is not the kind to just go on the spur of the moment. He is more the boy scout and has to be prepared for everything. I told him that it was the day we needed to give Kalista her remedy. The hard part is she can't eat anything for an hour before and an hour after. For a typical kid that wouldn't be so tough, but for our Angel it is almost imposable because she has little stashes of dried fruit and goodies hidden every ware. Then there is the other part that we have to give it to her as close to when we (wish) she would go to sleep as possible.
Jim suggested that we take her on a drive down the river and give it to her and just hang out till it was time. I was so surprised that he felt like doing it because he had just came back from fixing My Grandpa's truck in Lasal.
It was a beautiful idea and super fun. We drove down the potash road tossed rocks in the river. For some reason there was no one around so it felt like we were the only three people alive. The night was cool and smelled sweet like moon flowers and the rain that was coming. We could see the lightning off in the distance and every time it struck Kalista would say "Whooo Hooo!". She sat next to the door on the way home and caught the wind all the way home. (I got to set next to my sweet heart and hold hands)
Now she wants to go to sleep...... It is a good sign because she slept 16 hours strait last night.
I just feel happy and grateful.
We have an IEP tomorrow so being rested is even more of a blessing.
