One of the very last things that needed to be done in our kitchen remodel was to put a new exhaust fan over the island.  It has taken a log time to find one that would fit.  The ducting in this old house is huge.  So the only things that fit it are industrial sized.

I was ok with a stainless oven (stainless... what a joke!  More like fingerprint magnet)  but I was not ok with a big stainless cage hanging down from the ceiling.

We finally found a nice flat white one that would fit the ducting.  whoo hooo!

Kalista didn't want anything to do with it.  She wouldn't even come in the kitchen while we were doing it.

Last night while we were trying to sleep she sneaked into the kitchen and flipped on the fan.  Then she did it again.... and again.  Pretty soon she was laughing so hard.

I went to investigate.

It turns out that she was turning on the fan and then tossing up papers so they would stick and then when she was out of paper she would turn it off and start the game all over again.  I have never seen anyone so happy.  I just couldn't get mad at her.

The good news is the fan works really well.

The bad news is no one got any sleep.  (I'm crossing my fingers that something else comes along to distract her.)
