Understanding

Today I am grateful for understanding.

I was in the kitchen with Kalista and I saw that there was a little hole in her pants.  I said to her that we should sew it up.  Then I went to get my sewing machine.

When I came back she was standing in the middle of the kitchen holding her pants in one hand.  She handed them to me and then wrapped a blanket around her waist and sat down to wait for me.

This is a REALLY cool development.

She understood what I said!  I didn't sign... I didn't show her a picture...  I didn't tell her to take her pants off...  the machine was out of the room so I didn't point.

((((Kalista understood the words that came out of my mouth with no other prompts!  AND  made the connection of what she needed to do to help me!))))

I'm really proud of her.  This one thing would make our life so much easier I can't even explain it.

I'm doing the happy dance.  What a good way to start the day!
